Mould students with latest trends of education: Shabir

SRINAGAR, Oct 7 : Minister of State for Power and Forests Shabir Ahmad Khan has called upon the teaching community to mould the students with the latest trends of education, as education is an vital tool for socio-economic transformation, adding that the Government endeavors to promote quality and job oriented education across the State and for the purpose several reformative and exemplary initiatives are under implementation.
Addressing annual day function of Sir Syed Memorial Convent High School, Surankote, the Minister stressed upon the students to pay focus attention on their studies and prepare themselves for competing at State and  national levels as well.
Mr. Shabir said that the Government is paying focused attention for the development of Rajouri and Poonch districts. He said  huge power potential of twin districts would be exploited fully, for which he said the construction work on 37.5 MW Hydel Power Project Parnai, 12 MW Girjan ki Gali, 12 MW Phagla and 10 MW Mandi Hydel Power Project would be taken up shortly.
Earlier, the students of the institute presented colourful cultural programme which enthralled the audiences.
Later, the Minister presented awards among the students who excelled in curricular and co-curricular activities.
