UDHAMPUR, Apr 25: To discuss the arrangements for the smooth conduct of 3-day Shiv Parvati Annual Moungri Mela, commencing from May 14, a meeting of district officers and prominent citizens including local mela committee members was held today under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Subash Dogra.
Discussion was held on various arrangements related to smooth conduct of mela like maintenance of road, security, sanitation, health care, transport, traffic, drinking water and power supply, checking of rates, ration supply, cultural programme and sports etc.
During the meeting, instructions were passed to the concerned officers to create maximum awareness regarding Swacch Bharat Abhiyan during the mela days. Besides, concerned officers were asked to organize awareness sessions in the schools to involve school going children for generating awareness about cleanliness in and around their surroundings.
ACR directed the concerned officers to ensure that all arrangements pertaining to their respective departments are made well in advance.
It was decided in the meeting that various departmental stalls would be setup for the general awareness of locals about their schemes while on the second day of the mela.
It was also informed in the meeting that rural sports would be organized during the mela.
Tehsildar Moungri, was nominated as the Mela Officer of Shiv Parvati Annual Moungri mela.
Among others, President Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma Advocate Swatanter Dev Kotwal, President Shiva-Parvati Caves Shrine, Hans Raj Thakur, and senior officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
