Moungri Mela arrangements finalised

UDHAMPUR, May 7: The arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of 3-day Moungri Annual Shiv Parvati Caves Shrine Mela,  starting from May 14, 2013, were discussed at a meeting of district officers and prominent citizens including local mela committee members held under the chairmanship of  District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal.
After holding threadbare discussion on various arrangements related to smooth conduct of mela like security, sanitation, healthcare, transport,   drinking water and power supply, ration supply, the DDC directed the officers to make it sure that all arrangements pertaining to their departments are made well in advance and in an effective manner leaving no scope of any complaint from any quarter.
The DDC also underlined the need for intensifying market checking to keep a watch on the quality and rates of eatables being sold by the shopkeepers.
The DDC asked the Mela Officer (Tehsildar, Udhampur) to visit Mela site in advance to assess the required arrangements and remain camped there during Mela days.
She also directed Assistant Director, CAPD to dispatch adequate ration to Moungri, and depute a team to check  rates lists of eatables at the Mela site. Executive Engineer, PWD was asked to raise temporary sanitation units, while PHE was directed to make adequate arrangement of drinking water for the devotees visiting the Mela.
