UDHAMPUR, July 16: Driver had a narrow escape when a moving truck caught fire under mysterious circumstances near Darsoo on Dhar Road, here today.
As per reports, the truck bearing registration number JK02DH-9225 was on way to Kashmir when it suddenly caught fire. The truck was carrying coal while the driver managed to jump out of the vehicle and escaped unhurt.
On getting information, a police team from Roun Domail Police Post rushed to the spot and fire fighters were pressed into service to douse the flames. After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control, but till then the truck was gutted.
No casualty or injury has been reported in the incident, while exact loss could not be ascertained yet. Police said the truck was carrying some coal and cause of fire could be ascertained after investigation is completed. A case has been registered in this regard.
