MP asks Jammu people to get united for common cause

JAMMU, Oct 29: Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch constituency and senior Congress leader Madan Lal Sharma has asked the people of Jammu region to get united for their common interests.
Addressing public meetings at Vijaypur, Jakh and Railway Station Jammu today, the Congress MP appealed all the communities to get united for the common cause irrespective of their personal interests. He asked people to strengthen Congress Party for the greater interests of Jammu as no other party from Jammu region can share power  and watch the interests of Jammu region at large. He said that time has come when Jammu people should present a united face to counter the nefarious designs of anti-Jammu forces.
The Congress MP who also paid visit to the border belt demanded RBA status for the people residing along the International Border  and the LoC. He said that people of  this  belt have been deprived of this benefit.  The MP also appealed the Union Government to provide 5 marla plots to the affected border families.  He strongly demanded that border firing victims should be treated at par with militancy victims and paid Rs 5 lakh compensation instead of Rs 1 lakh. The MP also stressed for special recruitment drive in police and paramilitary forces along the border belt.
At Jammu Railway Station, the MP  interacted with the members of Taxi/ Matador/ Bus  and Auto- Rikshaw Unions and assured them to take up their issues with the concerned authorities.  Union leaders Devinder Singh, Inderjit Sharma, Pritam Singh and Kamal Pardhan were also present besides hoteliers Ravi Mahajan and Inderjit Khajuria.
Minister for Housing and Horticulture Raman Bhalla also spoke on the occasion and assured the people to resolve their issues. Former MLA Swarn Lata, Manjit Singh G L Chalotra  and Dr Satpal also accompanied.
