JAMMU, Jan 21: Member of Parliament for Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas who is also Parliamentary Standing Committee member for Energy convened CVPP Management meeting here today.
MD CVPP, MS Babu; CGM, PB Jain and Rahila Wani besides General Managers of different branches including GM Kwar Project, DP Mourya also attended the meeting.
Working module, project operationalisation, present status, employment generation, R&R Plan, hindrances and pending approvals from Government of India were highlighted in the meeting.
It was briefed that presently 1000 MW Pakal Dool Hydroelectric Power Project has already been started and work on the allotted areas is in full swing by both the contracting agencies ‘Afcons and Jaypee’ and till date most of the mobilisation of machines and allied tools has reached the sites and few hindrances put on by the locals are being worked out with the local administration in a speedy manner.
The MP expressed serious concern over the implementation of relief and rehabilitation plan and mechanism of recruitment adopted by the concerned agencies executing work on the projects.
He asked the management to direct contractors to follow all Labour Laws while paying dues to the employees at the project sites and recommended relaxation of experience certificates for jobs in the projects for effected families.
He also assured that the important concerns and issues raised by the management will be addressed and taken up with the Central Government.
