JAMMU, Aug 20: Ghulam Ali Khatana, MP Rajya Sabha, today visited Chamber House and interacted with office bearers, senior members of CCI and representatives of different market associations present on the occasion.
During discussion, Arun Gupta, President CCI, highlighted various issues pertaining to Trade, Industry and general public of Jammu which include immediate stoppage of installing smart meters, Toll Tax being charged at Thandi Khoi by NHAI be kept in abeyance till the construction of Express Way corridor and the damaged bridge at Tarnah Nallah (Chadwal) is made operational, GST linked incentive be made available to the existing Industries also for their survival in the era of cut throat competition, mother Industries like Rail Coach Factory and Defence equipment manufacturing factory be established in Jammu in order to generate employment opportunities for the youth of J&K UT, Freight Subsidy be provided upto National Capital to save the existing Industry, issues relating to GST refund and Interest Subsidy, the concessions being provided to the new Industrial Units be also extended to the existing Industrial Unit for their survival.
Arun Gupta also said that there are many Industrialists who want to establish their units on the land which comes under the purview of Khad Land and needs redefining of the “Kism” of this type of land.
Arun Gupta further apprised the MP that the Govt has fixed Circle Rates at very exaggerated rate while the actual prevalent rates are much low. Govt is encouraging the entrepreneurs to establish their own industrial estate but such exaggerated circle rate is becoming a big hurdle in this process, he explained.
While reacting, Khatana said that he has already talked to the PDD regarding excess billing and he hoped the necessary and favourable order shall be issued very soon. Regarding Toll Plaza, he said that he will take up the said matter with the NHAI to resolve the issue at the earliest. Regarding other issues raised in today’s meeting, the MP said that he will definitely take up these issues with the concerned higher authorities for their redressal at the earliest.
