NEW DELHI, Feb 12: Lok Sabha MP from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal called on D S Deswal, Director General of Indo Tibetan Border Police at ITBP Headquarter in Delhi and discussed various issues including transfer of Ladakhi personnel serving in SSB to ITBP.
They also discussed installation of Mobile Tower and restoration of DSPTs at ITBP posts in border areas for which both of them decided to pursue with MHA jointly.
MP JTN also raised the issue of pasture lands and asked for hassle free movement of local nomad for grazing purpose. The meeting decided to allow local nomads residing at Indo-Tibet border in Ladakh to use their ancestral pasture lands without any hassle and also utilization of BADP funds more meaningfully to develop border villages.
Jamyang also put forth the demand for preference to border resident youth in ITBP recruitment and early sanction of transmission line project for border areas etc.
MP Ladakh appreciated the activities for social developments being carried out by ITBP in Ladakh along with border security. He also highlighted the promotion of Ice Hockey by ITBP and sought training to local youth in various sports activities.
MP Ladakh also called on Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development and Neeraja Adidam, Joint Secretary Integrated Nutrient Management in New Delhi and pursued various pending projects and issues pertaining with Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency.
The meeting discussed in detail about the policy framed by Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh to make Ladakh an Organic Region as per the ‘’Mission Organic Development Initiative (MODI). MP Ladakh demanded for inclusion of the said Project under any of appropriate schemes of the Ministry so that Ladakh can be converted into an Organic Union Territory.
The meeting also discussed about the construction of Cold Storage in Leh and Kargil to store and supply vegetable to local populace as well as Indian Army posted in Ladakh.
Further, the meeting discussed the issues of MGNREGA and its wages and MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal demanded for revise of material and labour ratio to be 50-50 instated of existing 60-40 ratio in hilly area especially for the Union Territory of Ladakh.
