MP, MLA discuss road project with Union Minister

JAMMU, Aug 8: Member Parliament (MP), Jugal Kishore Sharma along with MLA Akhnoor, Rajeev Sharma met Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources and River Development, Nitin Gadkari at New Delhi and discussed various development projects.
The MP demanded Union Minister’s approval for making protection bands along both the banks of River Chenab to save the villages during floods in rainy season.
He said that the State Government has already forwarded detailed project report for the same to the Centre.
MP Jugal further informed Gadkari said that the project of Kandi Canal from Maira Mandrian to Kaleeth is very important and should be approved soon to serve water to Kandi area.
Project of double laning of Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway was also discussed and MP Jugal demanded approval for construction of road under central road funds.
The Union Minister listened to the demands very carefully and assured that same would be readdressed soon.
