MP, several deputations call on CM

JAMMU, Nov 19: Member Rajya Sabha, Nazir Ahmad Laway called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today and brought into her notice several issues of the Kulgam district.
The Chief Minister enquired about the pace of work on various developmental projects in the district and asked the MP to help people there in addressing the difficulties of day to day life, particularly in view of the coming winter.
Mehbooba Mufti advised the MP to ensure timely spending of MPLAD funds on the schemes of public importance so that these are not left unspent and schemes are completed in time.
Meanwhile, several deputations met the Chief Minister and apprised her of their problems and difficulties. They sought intervention of the Chief Minister in addressing their issues.
A deputation from R S Pura demanded identification of some portion of land for keeping their livestock and fodder there till situation arising out of border shelling gets stabilized.
Led by its President, a deputation of J&K Sharnarthi Action Committee demanded adequate relief incentives to them. They also demanded exploring possibilities of more employment opportunities to their kin.
A deputation of employees of Handloom Development Corporation demanded release of salary in their favor.
A deputation of youth from Mahore demanded issuance of list of teachers for the area. Another deputation of Gujjars demanded protection of their cattle.
The Chief Minister listened patiently to the deputations and assured them that their genuine demands and grievances would be looked into and redressed.
