MRM asks people to work for nation building

JAMMU, June 5: Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) today said that it is high time when the country is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the people should think above the religious considerations and identify themselves as Indians and work for the progress and prosperity of the nation as a whole.
This was stated by Mohammed Afzal national convener, MRM at a press conference here, today. He said on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the Manch will hold debates in different parts of the country and in this regard in J&K the programme will be held from June 5 to 10.
He said country fought war of independence for 100 years but unfortunately the nation was divided on the basis of religion and Pakistan came into existence. Since then Pakistan attacked India in 1947 later in 1965 and 1971. The China also attacked the country in 1962 annexing a portion of India. Pakistan since 1947 tried to inflict wounds on India and made people fought on the name of religion.
He said BJP Government led by Narendra Modi which came to power in 2014 has been working on one Principal Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas. The BJP Government did not discriminate with people on the name of religion and region or caste but worked for the equal welfare of all.
He said Islam tells a Muslim to be patriotic so it is high time we people of this country irrespective of our religions should identify ourselves as Indians in this 75 th year of Independence and work for making this nation strong.
Shahnaz Afzal, national convener, Nazir Ahmed Mir, Dr Shamshul Haq, Gulshan Kumar, Jan Mohammed and Mohammed Alam were present in the press conference.
