JAMMU, Sept 26: Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial (MSCBM) Trust and CRPF organised a five-day long national level painting camp at Patnitop.
The camp was mainly sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Govt of India and about 15 national level artists participated in this camp besides students of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu which concluded on Friday. The students from various schools of the area also attended the camp and learnt the traits of art with brush, from the noted artists from various parts of the country.
Prof Poonam Choudhary, director SVAPDA and Principal, IMFA University of Jammu was the chief guest while Suman Gupta, noted artist and painter of repute was the guest of honour at the concluding function of the camp. Some of the prominent artists of national repute included, Bhushan Koul from Jaipur, Rajendra Prasad from Lucknow, Madan Lal from Chandigarh, Renuka Gandhi from Haryana while Sanjay Roy, Manju Narayan, Nidhi Aggarwal, Presh Mirthi and Abhijit Pathak from Delhi.
Besides N D Jamwal, Milan Sharma, Rohit Verma, Akram Khan and Sahil, six upcoming painters from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu also attended.
Poonam Choudhary lauded the efforts of Anuradha Rishi, chairperson of Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust for taking this initiative and for giving opportunity to the local students of Chenani, Kud and Batote area to learn painting art and also to enrich it. She was highly impressed by the art work performed by the artists from various parts of the country. Ms Choudhary also appreciated the efforts of CRPF for making this camp a grand success.
Commanding Officer of 126 Bn CRPF, Shekhawat also spoke on the occasion and highly appreciated the efforts put forth by the Trust members.
