MSJK holds protest against property tax

JAMMU, Mar 8: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) today held a protest demonstration at New Plot, Jammu over imposition of property tax by the Municipal authorities.
Led by their president Sunil Dimple, MSJK activists burnt effigies of J&K Govt, Jammu Municipal Corporation and other municipal committees for imposing property tax. They raised slogans against JMC authorities as well as J&K Government.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple gave three days ultimatum to J&K Government to roll back property tax SRO. He said that even a single penny of property tax is not acceptable to them. He alleged that J&K Government is misleading the people and traders on property tax.
Dimple asked BJP MPs from J&K, BJP leaders, JMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor to resign in protest of property tax and join hands with people. He said that the Government is deliberately pushing people and traders of J&K towards ‘Jammu band’.
