JAMMU, June 18: Mission Statehood J&K (MSJK) workers here today staged a protest demonstration and torched the effigies of PDD and PHE Departments for prolonged unscheduled power cuts and acute scarcity of drinking water in the city and its outskirts.
The protest was led by MSJK president, Sunil Dimple who said that long power cuts are going on even after the installation of smart power meters.
“When temperature of Jammu has touched 45 degree mark, these power cuts have added to the miseries of patients, children, old aged persons and others who are having sleepless nights,” Dimple maintained adding: “For the last one week no drinking water supply has been made in many areas of Jammu and even no tankers were pressed into service in such areas.”
Partap Singh, Sanjay Mahajan, Bishan Das, Gopal Das, S. Pedro, Vijay Sharma, Mangu Singh, Kala Kumar and many others were also present in the protest.
