Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 14: Medical and Surgical Traders Association (MSTA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its general secretary.
While speaking, general secretary expressed concern over the gross irregularities of financial rules by Executive Engineer (Mechanical) Hospital and Central Heating Division, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
He said that various tenders of machinery and equipments are being floated by the above said department in a well knitted conspiracy to procure the equipment on extra higher rates, which results into loss to the State exchequer.
Government Medical College has high Power Purchase Committee for procuring the medical machinery and equipments but we are shocked that under whose direction the Maintenance Division is procuring the medical equipments, he added.
The Maintenance Division has floated the tender and placed the order for operation theatre lights in surgical theatres of Government Medical College Hospital. After violating the various financial rules, they placed order on higher rates and are further in the process of procuring the computers, etc.
MSTA has brought this thing into the notice of the Principal Government Medical College but till date no action has been taken against the maintenance wing of GMC, he added.
