JAMMU, Jan 27: The eight days Model Training Course (MTC) on “Marketing Research for Value Chain in Fruits” concluded at SKUAST-Jammu.
The training was attended by the twenty two officers of the horticulture, marketing, rural development and allied departments of J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
During the MTC, the experts from different prestigious institutes of the country were invited to deliver their valuable lectures on different aspects of Marketing Research and Value Chain.
On the valedictory function, the chief guest was Prof Nazeer Ahmad, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir whereas the guest of honour was Dr KS Risam, Director Extension and Dr AR Nazki, Former, Registrar and presently Regional Head, ICCR, Kashmir.
The programme was also attended by Dr TSA Ganai, Director Education, Dr Deepak Kher, PPMO, Dr RK Arora, ADE. The training was organized under the overall supervision of Dr Jyoti Kachroo.
During the deliberation of the training course various recommendations were put forth which will help regarding the value chain addition of fruits in J&K.
Prof Nazeer Ahmad advocated to have synergy between Horticulture Department and University Scientist, which will ultimately lead to better economic stability of the farming community. He further stressed to popularize the usage of high density orchards for better economic remunerative.
Dr Risam in his address stressed to conduct research on the value chain concept and make a sound scientific recommendation to the State Government.
The trainees were very much satisfied with the course contents and training material provided by the experts.
Earlier, Dr Anil Bhat, Course Director of the training programme presented the detailed report of the MTC.
The programme was also attended by Dr Manish Kumar Sharma, Dr SP Singh, Dr Vivak Manohar Arya, Dr Iqbal M Bhat, Ashish Isher, Naveed and scholars of the division.
In the end, vote of thanks was given by Dr Sudhakar Dwivedi.
