Sir,
This has reference to the article regarding Mubarak Mandi Complex published in the Sunday Magazine of Daily Excelsior recently.
The inordinate delay in restoring this grand complex to its pristine glory is a quite dismaying. By this time, this historic building should have been restored to its original position but for the murky politics it lies in a semi finished state. There is no financial constraint in executing work on it. According to the State Tourism and Culture Ministry, the 13th Finance Commission has recomended fund for the restoration of the Heritage Complex. This grand complex of medieval buildings can turn out to be major attraction for tourists-local as well foreign.
This building has a history attached to it. It bears testimony to various events that unfolded in the State since 1880 when it was built under the royal patronage.
At a time when buildings in the city are cropping up on new architecural concepts, using latest methodology, the Mubarak Mandi Complex will stand out unique and matchless.
There is urgent need to renovate it without further loss of time.
Yours etc…
