CHENANI (UDHAMPUR), May 20: Reiterating resolve of his party to establish a new system of justice and equality, patron of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today sought a decisive mandate for his party to give a final push to the agenda of peace, dignity, stability and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing an impressive public meeting at Chenani Bus Stand here today, Mufti said during its tenure the PDP led regime had proved its ability to change destiny of the common masses by treating all individual equally and by providing equal opportunities of development and growth to all sections of the society.
“Although we had just 16 members in the Assembly, we provided good Governance to the people by streamlining functioning of all the wings of the Government”, he said and added that it was only during the PDP led regime that governance consciousness was generated among the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the common masses had a taste of good governance.
Mufti said there was a widespread public recognition of the fact that the credible leadership and pro-people agenda of PDP had positively transformed the State’s political, economic and developmental landscape. “The process of the State’s political and economic transformation started by the PDP-led Coalition Government in the year 2002 has to be now taken to the logical conclusion because the present regime has miserably failed to carry forward this process”, he said and assured the gathering that PDP would, with fresh resolve, embark on the agenda of ensuring dignified peace and sustainable economic prosperity for the people in all the regions and sub-regions of the State.
Terming the coming Assembly elections as historic event in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, he said the State needs credible public representatives to address grievances of the people seriously. He, however, hastened to add that present regime has lost its credibility.
“After formation of National Conference led government in the year 2009, the State has been plunged into unprecedented crisis and this regime has become synonymous of chaos and uncertainty”, he said, adding, “It is a historical fact whenever National Conference attained power the state of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed uncertainty and mess”. He said that National Conference leadership deliberately encouraged chaos in the State because this party always take benefit of turmoil and uncertainty.
Responding to the demands raised by local people, Mufti reiterated his demand that a separate tourist circuit should be established connecting Sudhmahadev, Mantalai, Kud, Batote, Doda and Bhaderwah.
In the function senior leaders of Panthers Party and BJP joined PDP in the presence of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
