SRINAGAR : Hitting out at the PDP-led government over police action on devotees inside Jamia Ahlihadith in Islamabad (Anantnag), National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s Eid gift to his voters was teargas shells.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said, “Mufti’s Eid gift to his voters – Tear smoke shells lobbed inside Jamia Ahlihadith in Islamabad.”
Mr Sayeed greeted Mr Abdullah after offering Eid prayers at Hazratbal shrine, which houses the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad, on the bank of Dal Lake.
As soon as the prayers were over, Mr Sayeed walked over to Mr Abdullah and the two leaders exchanged Eid greetings. (AGENCIES)
