Mukesh Khanna asks children to love their motherland

ITANAGAR, Nov 24:
‘Shaktiman’ fame actor Mukesh Khanna today asked the children to love their motherland and learn from the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the cause of the nation.
“India witnessed only a few wars and perhaps that is the reason why we lack ‘desh bhakti’ (patriotism),” Khanna said while addressing a gathering here at the valedictory function of the ‘Sarhad Ko Swaranjali’ programme organized by Sanskar Bharati Poorvottor.
Khanna, who also played the role of ‘Bhishma’ in the mythological serial ‘Mahabharat’, feels that the politicians of the country are “least bothered” about the welfare of the people.
“You are elected for the interest of the nation but not for your own interest,” he said.
While referring to his character in ‘Shaktiman’, he said every child has a Shaktiman in him but the need is to bring it out and utilize its power for the cause of the country and the people.
Recalling the gallant deeds of Jaswant Singh Rawat and other martyrs of the 1962 Indo-Sino war, Khanna urged the children to follow their path for the country’s development. (PTI)
