Mula Ram seeks probe into appointments made during BJP regime

JAMMU, Mar 1: Reiterating the demand for high level probe into all appointments made during the four years of BJP rule in J&K, Mula Ram, former Minister and senior Congress leader said that the educated youth of J&K were the worst causality of the misrule of the erstwhile regime.
Addressing a meeting of party workers here today, the former minister said that corruption had become all pervasive in J&K especially during the erstwhile regime with thousands of backdoor appointments and Government jobs having been put to open auction with none to take cognizance. He said that huge scams had been reported after the fall of the BJP Government relating to power projects, insurance contracts and paid appointments with even the constitutional and statutory bodies like PSC and SSB also coming under the scanner of the then Governor of J&K.
The former Minister demanded a full-fledged inquiry into the appointment of political favorites in the various departments’ during erstwhile BJP regime. He said that on the recommendations and at the behest of BJP leaders, hundreds of persons have been illegally appointed in the departments’ without following the requisite recruitment procedures.
Speaking in the meeting, Hari Singh Chib, President DCC Rural, said that not only the J&K Bank which had made thousands of political appointments in blatant disregard for all cannons of equity and fair play, but the other J&K Departments had also beaten all records of such nasty back door appointments during the four year rule of BJP Government. He said that corrupt politicians in league with certain reckless officers had appointed several thousands of blue eyed candidates in Government services on monetary and other extraneous considerations which needed a CBI probe. He alleged that the close associates and even the family members of BJP’s former MLAs and MPs were appointed in the J&K Bank, violating all the recruitment norms.
Chib demanded cancellation of all illegal backdoor appointments in the J&K Bank and other Government departments of J&K.
Uday Chib, J&K President Youth Congress, appealed to the Lt Governor G C Murmu to reconsider and revoke decision of scrapping the J&K Bank recruitment process and complete the ongoing selection process without further delay.
