Mula Ram seeks restoration of Statehood, elected Govt

JAMMU, Dec 22: Congress has castigated the Union Government as well as the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Administration alleging that the hollow and anti-people policies of the BJP have multiplied the problems of the common people.
The allegations were leveled by the Congress leaders during a meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu (Rural), held under the chairmanship of Hari Singh Chib, president DCC Jammu-R, in Raipur Domana Constituency here today.
PCC vice president Mula Ram and president Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (JKPYC) Uday Bhanu Chib besides, a large number of Congress workers and activists were also present during the meeting.
In his address, Mula Ram said that the problems of the people in J&K have multiplied and increased manifold in absence of a popular government and it is an irony that nobody is talking about their burning issues. He said the BJP continues to unleash its hoax propaganda of achievements and least bothers about addressing the miseries of the common man. Mula Ram vociferously demanded the immediate restoration of statehood and Assembly elections at the earliest.
Hari Singh Chib while addressing the meeting, said that the Government’s failure can be well gauged from the fact that on one hand it talks about doubling of the farmers’ income and ameliorate their lot but nothing in this direction is visible on ground. He expressed strong resentment against the government for having failed to pay even adequate compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to hailstorm in Jammu region.
Uday Chib came down heavily on the wrong policies and hollow promises made by the BJP Government at the Centre due to which the people in general and the youth of this Union Territory are the worst affected. He said that BJP leaders had promised to end unemployment in the UT post Article 370 and 35A abrogation by creating ample job avenues, but nothing of the sort has happened till date. He lamented that the government even failed to fill the vacant posts in various government departments. He further asked the UT Administration to create more job avenues for youth.
