JAMMU, Sept 15: Former Minister and vice-president, Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Mula Ram today appealed the big houses of the country to come forward and donate liberally to help the flood victims.
He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing tremendous hardships due to massive damage of moveable and immoveable property and the Government infrastructure, besides loss of precious lives in the recent devastating rains and floods.
The former Minister said half of the Kashmir Valley is submerged in water and many people are still struggling to survive while in Jammu region, there was huge damage of crops, houses and cattle due to flood in Tawi and Chenab rivers, besides loss of many precious lives in the hilly terrain of Udhampur, Reasi, Poonch and Rajouri Districts.
Mula Ram was speaking in public meetings at Village Patta Barn and Malpur while on tour of Raipur-Domana constituency. He was accompanied by organizing secretary, JKPCC, Hari Singh Chib and president, BCC Bhalwal, Talanter Singh.
The JKPCC vice-president appealed the big corporate houses of the country to come forward and donate liberally to the relief fund of Jammu and Kashmir State on humanitarian grounds.
Hari Singh Chib and Talanter Singh in their speeches appealed to the Congress workers to go to the people at the grass root level in their respective areas and take stock of problems of people and bring these problems to the notice of concerned departments for redressal.
