MULBPA discusses demands, sanitation scenario in cities

JAMMU, Aug 3: Municipal & Urban Local Bodies Pensioners’ Association (MULBPA), Jammu province in a meeting held today under the chairmanship of its president BS Jamwal, discussed its demands as well as scenario of sanitation in capital cities and other towns of the State.
Addressing the meeting, BS Jamwal condemned the Government attitude towards the pensioners’ problems. He demanded the Government to implement Ayushman Bharat Scheme to all those pensioners whose annual pension is less than 8 lakhs or free insurance to all the pensioners for their treatment in specialized hospitals within or outside the State.
He also demanded to enhance medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month keeping in view the high price of medicines, consultation of doctors and clinical tests.
Earlier, the association members while discussing scenario with regard to sanitation of Jammu and Srinagar cities and other towns, expressed grave concern over deteriorating sanitary conditions of the cities of the State due to slackness on the part of supervising officers, who do not bother to check the Safai Karamcharis in their beats.
Expressing concern over repeated strikes of Safai Karamcharis which create problems for the citizens, the meeting appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to sort out this big problem so that citizens could get relief from such problems forever.
