The meeting expressed anguish over the failure of the J&K Government in enhancing of medical allowance of pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month. The speakers said as J&K is now Union Territory, thus pensioners are entitled to get the same benefits which are provided to the Central Government employees and pensioners.

They said earlier the Association has requested the JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta to start door to door collection of garbage/waste on daily basis but till date nothing has been done in this connection by JMC.
