AKHNOOR, Jan 7: As Municipal Committee Akhnoor today removed encroachments in the main markets, some on which shopkeepers protested against action and accused the Municipal Committee of being unfair.
Led by Inspector Manohar Lal, a campaign was launched by the Municipal Committee to remove encroachment in the town’s bus stand, main chowk, Raja Bazar and other markets. Encroachment by some shopkeepers was removed and a few others were warned against encroachment.
During the drive, some altercation between the shopkeepers and the Municipal was also witnessed. Shopkeepers accused the committee employees of being unfair in removing encroachment.
