JAMMU, Nov 18: Presidents from various Municipal Committees and Council’s took part in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Rajinder Singh Chib president of Municipal Committees Association.
During the meeting many vital issues were discussed. All the members present said that Government has again planned to start “Back to Village Programme” for Panchayats but less attention is being paid towards the Municipalities and due to overlooking of elected bodies of Municipalities by the administration they are facing huge problem. It was further stressed that like Panchayats the programme of “Back to Village” must also be started in Municipalities so that its benefits can reach to the people and elected members can be addressed at earliest with the help of such programme.
It was also stressed upon the Government to release the funds to Municipalities which the earlier Governor, Satya Pal Malik promised for Municipalities . The meeting was also attended by general secretary of the Association, Depesh Singh Pawar, Deputy Ram, chairman, MC, Khour, Madan Lal Ji, Chairman, MC, Jourian, Puran Chand, Chairman, MC, Bari Brahmana, Rajan Sharma, Chairman, MC, Bishnah, Deepak Kumar, Chairman, MC, Vijaypur, Pawan Kumar, Chairman, MC, Samba and Ramesh Saini, Chairman, MC, Arnia.
