JAMMU, Nov 27: An accused involved in the murder case of a watchman was arrested by Gandhi Nagar police from Janipur area today.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station conducted a raid in Janipur area and arrested a person involved in the murder case of a watchman at Belicharana.
The accused has been identified as Vikas Jailkhana, son of Maharaj Krishan, a resident of Dream City, Muthi.
The accused along with two others attacked Dalip Kumar of Kishtwar, who was working as watchman at Irrigation Store in Belicharana over some petty issue on October 19.
The victim was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment and died.
A case in this regard already stands registered with Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Paramjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
