Murder bid foiled, 2 held

SAMBA, Feb 20: With the arrest of two youth along with two swords and a dagger, Samba police claimed to have foiled a bid to murder a local youth hailing from Barian in district Samba today.
A police party from Supwal led by SI Parmodh Singh intercepted a car and during checking found swords and dagger concealed in the vehicle. Both the occupants were arrested and weapons seized. Another car following them stopped at some distance and the three occupants managed to flee back sensing trouble.
The arrested accused revealed that they had planned to eliminate one Ashwani Kumar of Dagore village over a land dispute at Sapwal. Those arrested were identified as Amanpreet Singh, son of Joginder Singh, resident of Ajeet Nagar, Rambagh in Jammu and Ashok Kumar, son of Saroop Sharma of Nagrota Kandoli near Jammu. The police was looking for three others, namely Rakesh Kumar of Purani Mandi Jammu, Pawan Kumar alias Pappu of Gadigarh and Sanjeev Kumar alias Sanju of Bara in Samba. The police also seized Indica car No. JK02N/3969 and a bike in this connection. Case under FIR No. 39/2013 has been registered in this connection.
