Srinagar, Dec 26: Police has cracked the murder mystery of a teenager who was found dead in Mattan area of Anantnag by apprehending the boy, his cousin, who had stoned him to death while playing in a field.
Police officials said the boy involved in the murder has been shifted to Juvenile home in Srinagar.
The teenager boy, Rouf Naikoo son of Shafi Nikoo of Nagam Kokernag was putting up with his aunt at Matipore Mattan.
“During the investigation several suspects were thoroughly questioned and it surfaced that on the fateful day, in the afternoon the deceased had left his aunt’s house along with his 14-year-old cousin Baid Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Paddar of Matipore.
The official said while playing Rouf and Baid had an altercation. Baid hit Rouf with a stone on head and he fell down on ground over another rock resulting in his on spot death.
“Sensing trouble Baid left the body in a nearby nursery and left the spot and returned home alone,” he said, adding, Mattan police registered a case FIR number 105/14 under section 302.
