JAMMU, Oct 17: On Shardiya Navratras, J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages here today in collaboration with RMK Arts & Research Foundation presented Musical Dance Drama ‘Mata Raginya Mahatemay’ (Mata Ki Kahani) at Abhinav Theatre.
Raginya Mahatemay has been taken from Mata Raginya Pradurbhav showcasing how Mata Shama Devi (Mata Kali) who blessed Ravan to stay in Sri Lanka after Ravan prayed for thousands of years on the advice of Mahadev but She was annoyed with Ravan due to his Rakshsas (Demon) attitude.
Later Mata left Sri Lanka and advised Sri Ram to kill this Demon.
Hanuman brought Mata Shama Devi on his back along with 360 Nags to Satisar Kashmir who herself selected the place of Tulmulla being marshy land suitable for movement of Nags in Vaishnav form to be known as Mata Kheer Bhawani.
Artists who performed in the play were Shivdev Singh, Vinay Pandita, Jagdish Sagar, Suman Pandita, Pummy Jotshi, Jitender Jotshi, Raj Kumar Bhat, Rahul Pandita and Vijay Dhar.
Concept and Music was given by Kuldeep Saproo, Subject Expert & Consultant was L.D Koul, the play was Written, Designed and Directed by Vijay Dhar, Singers were Suresh Chohan, Dr. Deepali Wattal, Sonali Dogra, Paras Charngoo, Shirya Gurtu, Simran Gurtu; Chorus Singers were Sharadh Pandita Khah, Shivani Koul, Samiksha; Light Supervision was done by Pankaj Sharma/Raj Kumar Bhat; Sound was managed by Lokesh; Cameraman was Ankush Saproo; Costumes & Makeup was done by Shivdev Singh; Set was managed by Virji Sumbly and Choreographer was Jitesh Kumar.
