JAMMU, June 20: Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has decided to launch nationwide campaign from today to September 30 for one nation one law.
This was stated by national president of the Manch Mohammed Afzal while talking to reporters here, today. He was flanked by other office bearers of the Manch including Jan Mohammed, Ali Mohammed Chichi, Tanzir Khatana, Jaffar Iqbal, Shakeel Ahmed Shaal, Farid Mohammed, Mohammed Alam, Raj Kumar Gupta, and Amin Iqbal Khan in the press conference.
While strongly advocating for one nation one law he said, the Indian Constitution has given freedom to all religions but the need of one nation one law has become imperative so that the people can get justice without any delay.
He said Manch is brining a resolution of one nation one law which should be acceptable to all religions and all sections of the society. He said there is one Criminal Law in the country while the Civil Law is different for different religions. This also creates problem for judiciary in settling the disputes or issues hence Manch advocates for one nation one law, he added.
Expressing concern over population explosion in India, he said, MRM also favours that a law be enacted for population control and Muslims should come forward in its support. He said India has a population of 20 crore Muslims and it is unfortunate that among them only three percent are graduate. He said Muslims should concentrate on education so that they can get employment and better their socio economical condition. The Manch has also brought another resolution in this regard, he added.
Mohammed Afzal also expressing his grave resentment against Love Jehad in the country and said it should be banned because this creates unrest in the society and leads to violence and breach of peace and inter community bonds. To end this trend he appealed the youth of his community to solemnize marriages within their community.
He said like previous years the Manch will also celebrate the Raksha Bandhan festival with fervor and gaiety this year. He also appealed the Muslim community not to sacrifice cows on coming Eid and instead give cow as donation to people.
He also appealed the Muslim community members to assemble once in a week especially Friday and after offering Namaz hoist National Flag which would be followed by National Anthem and work unitedly for the progress and prosperity of their community and nation as a whole.
