Mustafa Kamaal assures passage of Shrine Bill

JAMMU, July 10: National Conference (NC) general secretary, Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal assured the delegation of Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust,  that the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Bill will be passed in the next session of the Legislature in the form in which it is before the House.
The delegation of the Trust which met the N C leader , in connection with the Temples and Shrines Bill, held wide ranging discussion on various aspects of the Bill and the provisions which would ensure that the ancient heritage of Kashmir is protected from the vandalizers and vested interests.
The delegation of the Trust led by Harji Lal Jad and  H N Jatu, Its other members included Dr Arjan Nath Pandita chairman of the Trust, Dr R L Bhat spokesperson, Dr B L Hando, Brij Lal Bhat, M K Jalali, Maharaj Krishan Raina,  Ramesh Hangloo, M L Ganjo, Ramesh Aryan,  B L Bhat and Pyare Lal.
The delegation impressed upon  Dr  Kamaal who is also a member of the Select Committee that there are great apprehensions among the exiled community that the Bill has been put into the cold storage by being sent to the Select Committee. The delegation also told the NC leader that there was fear that vested interested at various places wanted to dilute the provisions of the bill which would defeat the very purpose for which the bill was being demanded.
The ex-MLC Bushan Lal Bhat informed the NC leader that the Trust had been mandated by the community to carry forward the community aspiration of the enactment of the Bill to protect the religious places of the Hindus of Kashmir. The delegation, also informed Sheikh Kamaal that the condition of the temples in Kashmir was very grave as admitted in the Bill itself.
