JAMMU, Sept 17: As a sequel to checking drive against traffic violations, the Motor Vehicles Department today challaned 27 vehicles across Jammu city.
The vehicles were challaned for various offences under the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The department also booked 16 auto rickshaws for offences like deficiency of documents and not operating their fare meters. Besides, 6 auto rickshaws were seized at different points in the city viz. Satwari, Gandhi Nagar, Bakshi Nagar and Nowabad.
The checking team was comprised of ARTO, Jammu, Kuldeep Singh and Motor Vehicle Inspectors, Suniel Cannie and C.S. Bilowria.
