UDHAMPUR, Aug 1: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) today kick-started the process for home delivery of driving licenses through Postal Service Department in the district.
District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the service.
About 183 driving licenses and 50 registration certificates were handed over to the Assistant Post Master Vijay Kumar for delivery to the applicants through speed post.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC appreciated the public friendly initiative taken by the department. He said that the postal delivery of licenses has been started by department with aim of decreasing foot fall of people in the office. He said that such delivery system would prove a boon to provide better facilities to the public at their door step.
In order to achieve mission “Zero-foot fall in Office” ARTO, Er. Kuldeep Singh also briefed about the process of home delivery of driving licenses.
