UDHAMPUR, Jan 12: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) organized a fitness mela/awareness programme for the drivers of heavy vehicles here today.
As per a statement, during the mela, the drivers were made aware of all the vehicle parameters to be checked in order to keep the vehicles worth plying on the road.
“Drivers were also sensitized about the importance of their health, monitoring of fatigue level, decreased concentration altered judgment, memory lapses, reduced field of vision, increased risk of drowsiness or falling asleep, which can lead to accidents on the road,” read the statement.
It said that reflective tapes were also installed on the rear side of the large vehicles and drivers were made aware about the fact that accidents due to poor visibility or lack of visibility during unfavourable weather conditions can be avoided to a greater extent using such tapes.
