JAMMU, Feb 1: A meeting of Migrant Welfare Committee (MWC) TRT Ist, Muthi was held under the chairmanship of T.N.Koul in which the problems confronting the displaced Pandits were discussed.
The meeting alleged that the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has failed to supply the ration for last three months despite the money for the same has already been paid by the Relief Organization due to which migrants are facing many hardships.
The meeting demanded that all arrangements be made in camps and non camp areas in view of the coming Maha Shivratri festival and ration and cash assistance be paid in advance.
The on going work in the camp also came under discussion and meeting complimented the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Y P Suman and Engineering Wing of the Organization for taking up the long pending works in hand.
Addressing the meeting Koul said R RC has given an assurance to Committee representatives that all pending demands will be settled on priority and Committee is hopeful that he will fulfill the promise.
M K Pandita senior vice president of the Committee and Manoj Sharma its organizer also addressed the meeting.
