NEW DELHI:  At a time when even big stars are experimenting with short films or web series, actor Tahir Raj Bhasin says he would like to stick to big screen.

The 29-year-old actor, who made a promising debut with 2014 film “Mardaani,” believes film is the only medium where audiences are completely involved.

“My focus are only films. There is something special about films as when it is being played in a dark theatre, the audience is watching only you. Whereas in TV there are a lot distraction. Film is a medium where the audience gives you 100 per cent,” Tahir told PTI.

The actor has received good reviews for his performance in his latest release “Force 2” and he feels the time and effort he put in the movie has paid off.

“I have always believed that the choice of your second film is as important as you first film. People have recognised me. The process of making the film has paid off for me and the entire team.”

Tahir says playing grey characters is the new trend and he is happy to be a part of it.

“It feels great to be part of an emerging trend of playing anti-heroes. Dark is the new cool. I can be cast in a range of parts, but at the moment I am really enjoying this genre as it gives you depth. It is a challenge to play such parts.”

In his first film, Tahir shared screen space with Rani Mukerji and in “Force 2” he worked with John Abraham. The actor says working with seniors helps him perform better.

“I like to spend time with senior actors before going on set to break the ice. On set, I just look at them as co-actors. The credit also goes to senior actors as they treat me equal. The confidence to perform in front of them comes from the fact that you overlook your persona and just do your job. It actually ups my game.” (AGENCIES)
