Myanmar national arrested with ganja

JAMMU, July 2: Police under “Operation Sanjeevani” arrested a Myanmar national and recovered 4 kilograms of ganja from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a police team apprehended a Myanmar national along with 4 kilograms of ganja.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Ilyaas (55), son of Taj Maluq, a resident of Myanmar.
With the arrest of the accused, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 151/17 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the arrested person at police station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SDPO East Arun Jamwal along with Incharge Narwal police post SI Waseem Mehraj made the arrest under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
