UDHAMPUR, June 6: Police today worked out mysterious death of a youth in village Chak Chanad under the jurisdiction of Rehmbal Police Station.
Giving details, Additional SP, Benam Tosh, said that information was received from Sarpanch of village Chak Chanad that one Shakeel Mohd alias Bittu, son of Rashid Mohd was hanging on a tree at village Chak Chanad.
During the course of investigation, police recovered suicide note from the personal diary of deceased which pointed towards abetment to suicide. Later, one more suicide note was recovered from the trouser of the deceased explicitly containing as to how he was compelled to end his life by way of constant threatening.
During investigation, police rounded up one Rafiq Mohd alias Sonu of Hartayan area of Udhampur and got him remanded to judicial custody for 15 days. During questioning of accused, it came to fore that it was triangular love affair that had ultimately led to the death of Bittu.
Bittu, a bus driver by profession, was engaged with a girl of Chak Chanad and they were about to enter into wedlock after about a month. In the meantime, Sonu started interfering and threatening Buttu that he (Sonu) would marry the girl. Though Bittu had informed his family about all this yet pressure from Sonu’s side continued to torture him mentally and yesterday he committed suicide near the house of girl by hanging himself.
