KATHUA, Apr 29: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer team conducted two-day visit of Government Degree College, Basohli for it’s assessment of 1st cycle of Accreditation.

Visit of Peer team started with interaction with the Principal of the college, Prof Ranjeet Singh Jamwal in his office Chamber where he gave a power point presentation explaining in detail about the college, followed by series of interaction with Coordinator IQAC Dr Papinder Bhagat, HoDs of all departments non teaching staff, students, parents, advisory committee, alumni and all other stake holders of the college in the smart room of the college.
For document verification and on spot assessment, the team visited all laboratories, Girls common room and the class rooms. The Peer team had a lunch on meeting with representative of Higher Education Department and University of Jammu, Prof Vivak Gupta, Department of Physics. The proceedings of day one culminated with the colorful cultural programme performed by the students of the college depicting the culture of J&K, Himachal and Punjab.
The 2nd day of the visit started with interactions with Coordinators of NSS, NCC, Red Ribbon Club, Science Club and Electoral literacy club and with other committees. Then they paid visit to Career Counseling Cell, Anti-ragging Cell, Anti Sexual Harassment Cell, Sports Centre, Playfields, Drinking water facilities, Waste Management System and finally had a document verification of Account Section and office of the college.
Finally in late evening, an exit meet was organized in which the Chairperson Dr K P Yadav advised valuable measures to be adopted by the institution for providing qualitative learning and teaching. The Chairperson along with Peer team handed over the Peer Team Report to Principal Prof Ranjeet Singh Jamwal.
Prof Shiv Kumar conducted proceedings of the valedictory function. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Papinder Bhagat, IQAC Coordinator of the college.
