NAAC team imparts training for handling of HEIs

JAMMU, Dec 12: Higher Education Department and J&K Special Cell of NAAC Bengaluru, jointly organized a two-day training of Trainers at GGM Science College Jammu for handholding of HEIs in J&K.
The resource persons for the training were Prof Vishnukant Chatpalli, Advisor, NAAC, Dr B S Ponmudiriaj, Dy Advisor and Dr Wahidul Hasan from NAAC, Bengaluru.
During the workshop, the participants were given extensive and exhaustive training on IIQA, SSR, Data verification, Online submission of data & provisions for funding for the institutions. The sessions included threadbare discussions on various aspects of NAAC accreditation process.
The participants included seasoned & experienced Professors, Principals, Deans & Director of various Higher Education Institutions of J&K.
On concluding day of the workshop, a Group Work on ICTs was performed in order to give practical training to the participants of accreditation process. Each step related to accreditation was discussed minutely by the participants with the NAAC Team.
In the open forum session, the participants discussed about the different aspects related to registration of Professors as assessors and various cycles of NAAC process. The session was followed by presentation on the future plan of action.
Dr Satinder Singh, Principal GGM Science College presided over the valedictory session, The programme was conducted by Professor Shalini Rana while Dr Geetanjali Rajput & Dr Akhansha Parihar acted as rapporteurs.
Earlier, in the inaugural session, Khurshid A Ganai, Advisor to Governor was the chief guest while and he, while interacting with the participants, hoped that the higher learning institutions of the State will progress leaps & bounds in terms of quality education by following overall latest standards of accreditation at the national level.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department Prof Zahoor Ahmed Chatt apprised the participants about the recent scenario of accreditation process in the State.
