Nadda, who was addressing the meeting of BJPs Extended State Executive Committee at Mishriwala on the occasion of birth anniversary of Jana Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee near here, asked his party cadre to gear up for the Assembly poll and make it sure that Lotus should bloom in every nook and corner of J&K UT. “You should go to people and apprise them about the development done in J&K during last 10 years of Narendra Modi Government which took J&K from darkness to brightness with its development agenda,’’ he added.
“ You have a lot to highlight on developmental front as a tremendous change took place in J&K during last one decade of Modi rule and party activists need to make people of the UT to understand this change which is visible on ground also’’, he added.
Nadda, while highlighting the development that took place in J&K under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said 1900 km long roads were constructed in rural areas while Jammu got separate All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) besides the UT got eight new Medical Colleges.
He said world class treatment will be provided at AIIMS Jammu and the patients of this region will not have to run to PGI Chandigarh and AIIMS Delhi or other institutes for treatment.
Terming the abrogation of Article 370 a great achievement of Modi Government, Nadda said that justice was given to West Pakistani refugees, Valmiki Samaj, Paharis, Tribals and other communities after abrogating this controversial Article for which the BJP had launched struggle right from fifties under the leadership of a great visionary leader, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
The BJP national president said under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah the Article 370 was said good bye which was a dream of Dr Mookerjee. “For remembering Mookerjee we need to recall his sacrifice which did not go waste and Modi Government fulfilled his unfinished task’’, he added.
Making a scathing attack on Congress for creating a wrong narrative on recent Lok Sabha elections he said that the party which could not cross the double digit in three consecutive elections is misleading the people on recent Lok Sabha results. “Those who lost elections are misleading people on their performance. It is ridiculous that the Congress party which faced defeat is claiming that it emerged victorious,’’ he added.
He said how Congress is boasting of its victory in the Lok Sabha elections when it could not win even a single seat from 13 States. “The 99 seats won by it were also on the basis of its alliance partners while its own performance is zero. In Chhattisgarh, MP and Gujarat which have 64 Lok Sabha seats, the Congress won two seats only from there rest went to BJP and still boosts of victory,’’ he added.
He said the BJP is only party in the country which contests elections on its own strength as ours is ideological based party while Congress party has no basic ideology. He said we were opposed to two Constitutions within one country and BJP had a firm stand on Ram Janambhoomi and it came forward to launch struggle for Ram temple construction and this year the Ram temple was constructed after party’s long drawn struggle.
He also did not spare the Leftists saying that they don’t know India, its history and cultural background. He said on the basis of ‘Ekata Manavvad’ (integral humanism) of former Jana Sangh president, Deendayal Upadhayay, Modi gave slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’’. He said BJP is the party of 18 crore activists and the largest political party.
He said the Tribal people in J&K will first time now have representation in UT Assembly and they were deprived of this right by previous Governments. Now BJP Government has given them this right, he added.
Nadda said that earlier there was a resentment among the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions that they were being discriminated by the then Governments and BJP Government ended the regional discrimination by giving due share to every region. He said the people should recall the past and compare it with present and see the transformation made in last one decade of Modi rule.
He said up to 2014, India was known as the corrupt nation in the world and today the people who were ruling up to that time give speeches in Parliament on corruption knowing fully that their Government was knee deep involved in corrupt practices.
He said the Modi Government changed total discourse and Army which was not given powers to retaliate Pak firing got free hand in Modi Government. He said nowadays the life of a terrorist s not more than one year while the Manmohan Singh Government had no authority to take decision on his own, he added.
Without naming Congress, he said those who nowadays give lectures on price rise and unemployment have no knowledge of economy. International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its report has said that the situation in India after 2013 has changed as our growth rate is 6.8 percent, he added.
“We were 11th economy of the world earlier now we are the fifth economy of the world surpassing Great Britain and the days are not far when India will become the third economy of the world,’’ he said.
He said opposition parties have the myopic eye as in last 10 years three lakh eighty thousand road length was constructed in the country and they negate it. Eleven crore water connections were given and 3200 km road length was built in border area. The rail link to Kashmir which was a dream earlier has now become a reality under Modi rule.
Nadda said 84 new airports were constructed in the country during Modi rule and India which was facing shortage of bullet proof jackets is now exporting them. Four crore houses were built for houseless by Modi Government in last 10 years and now it has set a target of constructing three crore more houses in next five years so that there should be no family without a pucca house, he added.
Nadda also paid glowing tribute to Sher-e-Duggar, Pt Prem Nath Dogra who struggled his entire life to make J&K an integral part of India. Nadda congratulated people of Jammu in attaining cent percent results in Lok Sabha elections in 2014, 2019 and 2024. “It is our good luck and the blessings of the people of the country that BJP made Government at Centre for third consecutive term under the leadership of Narendra Modi,’’ he added.
Jawahar Lal Nehru also formed Government at Centre for three consecutive terms but the situation was different at that time as democratic Government was in infancy then and Opposition was not also so strong at that time, he said.
Nadda, who also paid glowing tribute to Dr Mookherjee who had laid down his life in J&K, defying the then Government’s permit system for entry into J&K said the late Jana Sangh leader was opposed to State within a State. He resigned as Union Industry Minister under Jawahar Lal Nehru for granting special status to J&K and launched struggle against two constitutions, two presidents and two flags within a State.
He said Dr Mookerjee was not only the intellectual but the youngest Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University but he left the job and joined the freedom movement. Today West Bengal and Punjab are parts of India because of Dr Mookerjee’s struggle and his commitment to the nation otherwise Nehru would have compromised on them also, he added.
Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is crown of India, Nadda said that Dr Mookerjee had special relations with J&K. He continued struggle throughout his life for national cause and he was never after any post but dedicated his entire life to nation. He got the permit system in J&K abolished and said one does not need permit for entering J&K. He broke the permit system and was jailed in Srinagar where he laid down his life on June 23 in 1953. Since then this slogan became dearer to BJP that “Jahan Huyay Balidan Mookerjee, Woh Kashmir Hamara Hain’’(That Kashmir is ours where Dr Mookerjee laid down his life), Nadda added.
Union Minister, G Kishan Reddy, in his address, remembered the days when BJP national president had to initiate Tiranga Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to hoist the National Flag at Lal Chowk and said that under Modi , the National tricolour can be seen everywhere in the region. He said that in the last 10 years exemplary development was ensured in J&K by Modi Government and in the next years this development will reach further heights. He asked the party cadre to reach every household and seek their support in the forthcoming elections and make the party even stronger.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh appreciated the J&K BJP cadre for their sacrifices and congratulated them for the 100% result in Lok Sabha elections. He blamed the former CM, Sheikh Abdullah for destroying the J&K State economically, politically and socially and said that the false narrative was being built from the beginning when the Pakistan Army attack was named as Kabaili attack. He blamed the Congress for not correcting the serial mistakes and the State was pushed into a bloodbath. He credited Modi Government for correcting the historical mistakes and for establishing the peace and prosperity in J&K.
BJP UT chief Ravinder Raina, in his welcome address, congratulated the party cadre for fulfilling its commitment made in the last Working Committee meeting to secure a grand win in Lok Sabha elections. He credited the hard working ground level workers and the strong leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, party president, JP Nadda for the emphatic victory. He termed the works of PM Modi as extraordinarily beneficial for the needy.
