Justice having distanced from and thus eluded the victims of Nadimarg massacre of 2003 in Kashmir wherein 24 innocents including toddlers and young mothers, old and young males etc, were lined up and shot dead in close range. Justice and long arms of the law of the land having equally been denied to the perpetrators of the heart rending mayhem, it is a great relief that High Court has now taken cognisance of the massacre and ”opened ” the case.
Intricacies of the judicial system and the long time consuming and even evasive oriented procedural formalities having grossly affected the blood splashing case coupled with most of the relatives of the victims due to fear having fled the native village where innocents were mowed down, the case faced lot many hiccups. Now that the case is reported to be “re-opened” after it was closed a decade ago, it is expected that justice delayed all these 19 years will not be denied to the victims and the perpetrators equally.
