UDHAMPUR, Nov 2: Ahead of 545th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sikh Sangat took out an impressive Nagar Kirtan in Udhampur town with traditional and religious fervour.
A large number of people, including women and children, took part in the religious procession, which passed through various areas of the town, including Main Bazaar, Subash Nagar, Indra Nagar, Adarsh Colony, Barrian, Talab Sallain, Chabutra Bazar, District Hospital Road and streets of the town before culminating at Shree Gurudwara Sahib.
Panj Piyare of Guru, fully decorated in traditional attire, led the Nagar Kirtan while a number of Sikh youth displayed various techniques of martial art `Ghatka’.
The entire town was fully decorated and people had arranged fruits and sweets for Sangat at many places. Amidst reciting of Shabd Kirtan, Prashad was also distributed among the public.
