JAMMU, Jan 22: In connection with the celebration of 357th Prakash Purab of 10 Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, an impressive `Nagar-Kirtan’ was taken out from Singh Sabha Gurdwara Simbal Camp by the Sikh community members in Jammu district today.
A large number of Sikh community members including women and children without caste and creed participated in this religious programme. The Nagar-Kirtan was organized by Sikh Naujawan Sabha Simbal Camp with the cooperation of Jammu Sangat and from adjoining areas.
The religious procession started from Simbal Camp and after passing through Tali Morh, Miran Sahib and Brij Nagar, it finally culminated at Gurdwara Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib, Inder Nagar. A vehicle had been highly decorated like a rath and Guru Granth Sahib had been kept on the Rath.
Many Ragies, preachers, poets recited Shabad Kirtan and Gurbani Path. The Gatka parties from Punjab and Jammu displayed their martial art/ feats. Various Sikh organizations and local Gurdwara Committee and Members DGPC Jammu of J&K political and social organizers also welcomed the Nagar Kirtan.
Prominent and religious personalities who participated included- Bhai Kanwar Charat Singh president All India Sikh Student Federation Punjab, Bhai Chamko Singh Dhun Paracharak Taran Taran Punjab, Bhai Jatinder Amrtisar wale, Bhai Jagdeep Singh Wadech, Poetic Jatha Punjab, Bhai Bharpur Singh Ji Akhand Kirtni Jatha Lala Nagar wale, Bhai Harpinder Singh Incharge Sikh Mission Jammu Kashmir, Bhai Baljit Singh Ragi Jatha Dharam Parchar Committee Amritsar, Khalsa Pipe Band Punjab, Bhai Surinder Singh Ragi Jatha Jammu, Bhai Gurpreet Singh Johal Parcharak Committee Amritsar, Mishal Shaheed Ghatka Akhara Damdami Taksal Punjab, Bhai Rasvinder Singh Parcharak Jammu. Bhai Daljeet Singh Sikh Naujwan Sabha Simbal Camp, Bhai Karamjeet Singh DGPC Jammu, Bhai Hassan Preet Singh Ragi Jatha Simbal Camp and others.
