Nagar Kirtan taken out on eve of Parkash Utsav

UDHAMPUR, Nov 22: On the eve of Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev, an impressive Nagar Kirtan (religious procession) was taken out in the town, here today.
Large number of Sikh Sangat of Udhampur took part in the traditional Nagar Kirtan, which passed through different bazaars of the town amidst chanting of religious slogans like Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal’.
During the Nagar Kirtan, which was being led by Panj Piyare of Guru Govind Singh, youths exhibited martial art skills. Women and children also took part in the procession, which passed through Main Bazaar and streets of the town before its culmination at Shree Gurudwara Sahib.
The town was specially decorated for the occasion and people had arranged stalls of fruits and sweets for the participating Sangat. Prasad was also distributed among people.
