UDHAMPUR, Nov 10: A large number of Sikh community members took out an impressive traditional Nagar Kirtan in Udhampur city in connection with the upcoming 556th ‘Parkash Utsav’ of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The traditional Nagar Kirtan was taken out from Gurudwara Singh Sabha Udhampur City, with chanting of ‘Shabad-Kirtan’ in the praise of great Guru by the Sangat. The Sikh youths exhibited the traditional martial arts, mostly trained by Baba Deep Singh Akhada.
Sikh Sangat including ladies and youths took out party in the Nagar-Kirtan, which passed through Ram Nagar Chowk, Hospital Road, Saillian Talab, Chabutra Bazaar, Main Bazaar and streets of the town and later culminated at Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium.
The grand religious procession was led by `Panj Piyare of the Guru, decorated in traditional attire. The town was fully decorated and people had arranged fruits and sweets for Sangat at many places.
Sangat recited the Bhajan and Kirtan and also distributed Prashad among the public.
