JAMMU, Dec 10: Police today registered a fresh case against Jatinder Singh alias Raja son of Nagar Singh alias Nago after he assaulted a police Sub Inspector outside the court premises at Janipura, where he had been brought from District Jail of Kathua for production in the court in connection with Amandeep Singh murder case.
Police said Raja assaulted Sub Inspector Rakesh Singh, who was accompanying him as head of the escort party from Kathua District Jail to Jammu for producing him in the court in connection with Amandeep murder case.
Raja was trying to break police cordon to reportedly look for some narcotics, which was objected by SI Rakesh Singh after which the murder accused assaulted the police official.
Police parties from Janipura police station led by SHO Inspector Niaz-ul-Hassan rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. A case has been registered against Raja under Section 353, 332, 506 and 504 RPC at Janipura police station.
Police took Raja back to District Jail Kathua after producing him in the court.
Police said they would seek custody of Raja from Kathua jail through court for investigations of a fresh case registered against him.
