JAMMU, Oct 25: Nagrad Adbi Sangam (NAS) organized Yad-e-Saroor a cultural programme in memory of veteran poet Late Jawahar Lal Saroor at K L Sehgal Hall here today.
A galaxy of poets, writers and other prominent people attended the function. The programme was of two sessions and in the first session the dais was shared by Prof R L Shant who presided over the function also, A K Zaz, Aseer Kishtwari, Ramesh Hangloo, president Pir Panchal and honorary director, Radio Sharda, Dr Arvind Singh Aman Deputy Secretary, Cultural Academy was the chief guest on the occasion.
A K Naz presented the welcome address and the papers about the poet were read by Avtar Hugami, Rajinder Agosh and P N Shad. The speakers also threw light on the literary contribution of late poet and the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Vijay Wali.
The second session was of poems recitation and the presidium was shared by P N Shad, B K Sanyasi, J N Sagar and a large number of poets participated in the programme and recited their latest poems. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ashok Gowhar.
